The European Economic Interest Group EURO ADRIA CHALLENGE G.E.I.E. - E.G.I.Z. took as its mission the study, design and construction of maritime and port works and services in marine or inland waters of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region (Italy), Republic of Slovenia and Republic of Croatia.

The #EEIG (GEIE - EGIZ) is a legal entity based on #EuropeanUnion law to facilitate and encourage cross-border cooperation (EEC Regulation no. 2137 of 25 July 1985 - Italian implementation with Legislative Decree 23 July 1991, no. 240). It is a form of European cooperation and transactional partnership that allows private and public institutions and bodies to jointly carry out certain activities for the purpose of participating in European Union programs. The EEIG arises from a legal contract in which several subjects (Members) join forces in a flexible and effective way. Each participant, after signing the contract once the objectives to be achieved in Community matters have been defined, can go back to working on their own Mission, worrying only about the monitoring and control phases of the EEIG. From that moment the EEIG operates autonomously, interfacing with the associated partners in relation to the achievement of the set objectives.
